Norwegian salmon sales and marketing consortium Salmon Group's exclusive agreement with insect protein producer Metapod to develop grasshoppers as a new protein source for salmon feed has fallen through.
This comes after Metapod informed Salmon Group that it is unable to meet conditions laid out in the agreement. The companies have now terminated the agreement.
This week, Salmon Group requested a briefing on the status of the project, only to be told the industrial volumes on which the agreement are based cannot be achieved.
