Fishmeal and fish oil prices have fallen dramatically from the abnormal peaks that followed last year’s severe disruption to the Peruvian anchovy harvest, a Norwegian seafood analyst told IntraFish.

By mid-November, fish oil from Peru was trading around 64 percent below the highs of last year, said Ola Trovatn, analyst with DNB Markets. Fishmeal prices were 38 percent lower than they were at their peak.

“We expect continued price declines for fishmeal and fish oil in the fourth quarter this year and the beginning of 2025,” Trovatn told IntraFish.
