Oleksiy Pavlenko, Ukraine’s former Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food, referred to Ukraine as the food basket of the world, highlighting the country’s importance for the planet’s food security.

That security has, however, now been hijacked following Russia’s invasion of the country.

Ukraine produced 6.2 million metric tons of animal feed during 2019-2020, a figure which has been steadily rising over the last several years, according to domestic analytical agency APK-Inform.
