Feed producers Cargill and Skretting will co-invest almost NOK 1 billion (€85.5 million/$92.5 million) in the construction of two new feed vessels servicing Norway's salmon farming industry, the companies said Monday.
Shipping company Eidsvaag will operate the two new feed vessels, which are due to be delivered in 2026.
The vessels will have diesel-electric propulsion systems and flexible fuel engines capable of operating on biodiesel.
The vessels will be built under the Fjordfrende partnership, a cooperative venture established in 2019.
