US aquaculture feed giant Cargill is investing in Norwegian land-based salmon farming company Salmon Evolution, and has also inked a deal with the group to supply feed to its facility in Norway.

Cargill will invest $5 million (€4.3 million) in the company by way of a private placement of new shares to be issued, and supply 100 percent of Salmon Evolution's feed volumes for the Indre Haroy facility, which is scheduled to start production in March 2022.

Cargill is further committing to allocate significant resources and R&D toward developing sustainable feed solutions tailored to Salmon Evolution's operational targets.
