In a heated patent lawsuit brought by fish health group STIM, the Oslo District Court has ruled against BioMar on several counts, leaving the feed giant with a bill of roughly NOK 23 million ($2.4 million/€2.2 million) to cover damages and other fees.

BioMar was found guilty of patent infringement related to its product Intro Tuning, which the court ruled was a copy of STIM's SuperSmolt FeedOnly.

"The court finds it to be clear that Biomar’s course of action constitutes an unreasonable exploitation of STIM’s efforts and results, which is contrary to good code of conduct between businesses," according to the ruling.
