Netherlands-based algae oil producer Veramaris said it is preparing to scale up operations after a record-breaking year saw a 50 percent increase in production volumes.

Veramaris said it succeeded in ramping up its alternative sources of Omega-3 EPA & DHA for aquafeed with only a "marginal" rise in total greenhouse gas emissions, underlining progress in decarbonizing its operations.

"2023 marks a pivotal year for Veramaris, as we not only achieved a record increase in production volumes but also solidified our market position" Veramaris CEO Gertjan de Koning said in an emailed statement.
