French processor to introduce salmon to Vietnam
French processor Direct Ocean is aiming to sell Atlantic salmon to Vietnam’s retail and foodservice sectors, said Benoit Lamblin, a partner in the company.
Direct Ocean, which just opened a Ho Chi Minh City office, is initially aiming to sell to the retail market, to supermarket chains such as Metro and Big C in Vietnam.
“Vietnamese are traveling more now so they are exposed to new products,” said Lamblin.
In fact, it is not only Vietnamese who were interested in salmon at Vietfish.
