Norway-based salmon derivatives group Fish Pool is taking its case to buyers, sellers and investors that operating in the salmon arena can be less risky than it is.
The cyclical -- sometimes volatile -- nature of the salmon business will always have inherent risk, but hedging strategies can be the key to keeping operations steady and successful by taking out the highs and lows of salmon price changes, Fish Pool CEO Soren Martens told attendees at the IntraFish Media Seafood Investment Forum in New York City.
