Skretting, the fish feed division of animal feed producer Nutreco, will continue its drive toward more non-salmonid feed, its CEO Knut Nesse told attendees at the IntraFish Seafood Investment Forum last week.

The €4.7 billion ($6.1 billion)-turnover company -- of which Skretting made up €1.6 billion/$2.1 billion in 2011 -- aims to increase the proportion of non-salmonid feed volume from 28 percent in 2010 to 45 percent in 2016, Nesse said in his company presentation.

Skretting is aiming for 55 percent of its fish feed going to salmonids by 2016, down from 72 percent in 2010, which means aggressive expansion in new species -- in particular shrimp.

"We
