NFI lays out focus items for 2013

At the closing session of the conference, NFI laid out the main focuses for this upcoming year.

The key topics include working with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to better understand and be able to comply with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA); working on issues relating to seafood and customs and border patro; declaring a position on genetically modified (GM) salmon--the position being that NFI supports research on GM salmon; and working with the governments of other nations, such as Thailand which are facing labor dispute issues.
