Three successful days at the NASF conference in Bergen, Norway, have come to an end with the first IntraFish 2013 Aquaculture Awards, celebrating the farm managers whose innovation, dedication and hard slog keep the industry afloat.
Rachel Mutter, editor at Fish Farming International, led the evening, highlighting the varied roles of farm managers in aquaculture, urging the industry to "build a forum for discussion" and knowledge transfer.
The evening started off with an introduction to Danish rainbow trout producer Musholm by its farm manager Anders Lejbach, who cracked up the audience with his witty verbal barbs, hinting that Denmark was actually poised to become the leader in aquaculture -- until Norway came along.
