Chilean fishing and aquaculture group Blumar is one of the world's most diversified seafood producers, and its strength across the sectors is one of the key's to its success, CEO Gerardo Balbontin told attendees at the IntraFish Seafood Investment Forum in New York City last week.
Blumar's revenue comes primarily from salmon and fishmeal (at 32 percent and 30 percent of sales, respectively), but trout, horse mackerel, hake and hoki, fish oil and other products all play a significant role in the company's portfolio.
Arctic Securities was the key sponsor of the 2013 New York City Seafood Investment Forum.
