The Faroe Islands ranks first in coronavirus testing, Politiken reported. Instead of testing salmon for viruses, the Food and Veterinary Authority have been testing citizens for coronavirus in their laboratory.
The country is testing 20 times more than its neighboring country Denmark during the pandemic.
Around 92 people tested positive on March 21 in the Islands due to the high rate of testing.
"If our strategy holds, we have thrown a really good net and caught most," medical consultant Bjarni a Steig said.
By testing and managing all cases early on, the country hopes to open up slowly again, but that is still uncertain, the consultant said.
