Feed giant Cargill will definitely move into aquaculture in the next few years, Einar Wathne, president of Cargill Animal Nutrition told IntraFish.
"It’s a part of our long-range strategy, where we believe we can make a contribution to the whole value chain," he said.
"But Cargill is definitely getting into aquaculture. When that will happen hasn’t been decided yet. First we have to complete the integration of Ewos, and have our hands full with that just now. Whether this will take one or two years to implement, I have no idea, but I’m convinced Cargill will have ventured into aquaculture in the next few years,” said Wathne.
