The cost of raising vannamei shrimp under an extensive farming model piloted in Vietnam is up to VND 13.5 million (€558.3/$592) per hectare in Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta provinces, with a low profit of only VND 17.2 million (€711.30/$754.20) per hectare, reports Vietnam News.
In the meantime, the cost of raising black tiger shrimp is about VND8 million per hectare and the profit up to VND 22 million (€909.80/$964.70) per hectare.
The data was revealed at a workshop held in Hanoi by the Directorate of Fisheries under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
