Pennsylvania-based water treatment equipment firm Veolia debuted a new modular recirculating aquaculture system, RAS2020, at Aquaculture America with several unique features unlike other RAS technology. The company said it can "reduce capital costs, maximize production, minimize operating costs and improve sustainability."

The first system was recently constructed in Switzerland, a second is being built in Denmark and a third just started construction in Norway. The design was developed in Denmark and the company hopes to expand it into the states.

The RAS2020 works with salmon, kingfish, sea bass, sea bream, trout, pike perch, barramundi, cobia and grouper.
