BUCKING the trend of elsewhere in the USA, a Californian farmed catfish company is actually increasing production, reports TOM WRAY.
Imperial Catfish ¿ one of the biggest producers of channel catfish in California ¿ is building new ponds to expand the production of this popular fish to meet growing demand from Asian food markets and recreational fishing lakes throughout southern California.
The company’s farms are located in the warm desert climate of the agriculturally rich and culturally diverse Imperial Valley, located between the Salton Sea – a big inland saline lake – and the Mexican border.
