US land-based salmon farmer Nordic Aquafarms continues to face legal challenges as it heads into 2019.

The Republican Journal reports this month an attorney representing Maine-based Upstream Watch and Maine Lobstering Union, has filed a formal motion with the state departments of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, seeking to dismiss Nordic's pending permit applications.

In the complaint, Kim Ervin Tucker charges both DEP and the Bureau of Parks and Lands with deeming Nordic's applications complete without sufficient proof that the company has right, title and interest to the property to be crossed by the pipes, as required by both applications, according to the news site.
