The United States isn’t exactly known for its aquaculture prowess: Compared to China, Norway and Canada – among many others -- the United States is still lagging behind in seafood production.
Nationwide, in fact, aquaculture has experienced flat growth. But not everyone is giving up -- a few companies have soldiered on, trying new techniques and perfecting ideas to help boost the US fish farming industry. And that seems to be the final assessment: If the United States wants to be a player in the global aquaculture industry, it can’t blindly follow the models of other nations -- it has to blaze its own path to success.
