Transparency, traceability and trust. It seems as though these words are becoming synonymous with the food industry, and in particular our sector.

However, we are not alone in this, and these themes are becoming legalised. These terms are not only in response to health and hygiene, quality labelling, eco-labels or consumer concerns, or even as Charles Woodhouse reported in FFI last month, in response to bio-terrorism.

The facts are that a mix of all of the above are creating a new world in food, and we have to address the situation to avoid being left behind.
