The Tasmanian government denied claims by TV program Four Corners’ report that the salmon farming industry is not regulated strongly enough, reports ABC.net.
Francis Bender, co-founder of Huon Aquaculture, expressed concerns of overstocking in Macquarie Harbor, warning of a looming environmental disaster.
Following the claims, Tasmania’s Primary Industries Minister Jeremy Rockliff said he was disappointed at the way the industry had been portrayed.
