WITH Chilean production expected to mushroom over the next few years, companies such as Salt Creek are looking to increase their business in the country supplying feed for the beginning of the fish farming process - larval diets, enrichments for rotifers and artemia cysts.

At ExpoPesca the US-based company will introduce what it claims is a diet that can replace requirements for artemia, stocks of which are said to be at dangerously low levels.

Salt Creek claims that its diet - named Revolution - has "received initial success with both fish and shrimp larviculture, replacing at least 50% of the artemia demand".
