IntraFish: You have a long history in the seafood industry, particularly in the area of sustainability. Can you tell us a bit about how the perception of ‘sustainability’ has changed in that time – both in the industry and the market?

Carson Roper: It is helpful to begin with some working definitions and contexts. For example, sustainability can be summed-up as an equation of environmental, social and economic considerations. Responsible actions lead to a positive outcome. Contextually, we tend to speak of the aquaculture industry as an entity.
