KEETON Industries of the US is reintroducing its probiotic microbial formulation Lymnozyme following its success in the ornamental fish market.
It found success in the UK under the name Genesyz. "It has done so much for the koi farmers [there], " says company president Jim Keeton.
Lymnozyme is all-natural and effective against vibrio, streptococcus, pseudomonas, aeromonas and other infective agents.
It is not a medication or chemo-therapeutic. It is a blend of microbes effective in improving water quality.
Keeton cautions that marginal ponds with low oxygen should be monitored during application, or aerated if oxygen depletion is expected - in other words, common sense should be applied.
