When approaching Myre, Norway in the north of Vesteraalen, your attention is almost immediately drawn to the BioMar factory. In this small town, the factory is certainly the tallest building for miles, and one of the largest employers in the area.
Over the centuries, fishing has been -- and still is -- the most important livelihood here, but since 1987, BioMar has contributed considerably to local employment.“Gathered around this board is more than 150 years of experience," said Arne Otto Olsen, production manager at the BioMar factory, when he welcomed IntraFish in March.
