Fledgling Norwegian land-based salmon farmer Andfjord Salmon AS has hired three former Cermaq and Nordlaks employees.

Kjell Nilsen will join from Nordlaks where he has worked since the 1980s. He will be joined by Svein Hansen, previously an operator at salmon farming company Cermaq.

Hansen has also had previous experience at Aker Seafood, Salmar and North Salmon.

Petter Kristiansen will join the company from Sortland. He is the company's youngest employee so far, but already has three years of experience at Nordlaks Produkter.

“We are seeing that the Andfjord Salmon project is very attractive, and are very happy with the expertise we have secured on Andoya,” said Martin Rasmussen, CEO of Andfjord Salmon AS.

“We are looking for a mix of young talent and more experienced specialists who together can help shape the farming of the future. Now we are very well equipped to get into the operational phase.”

The three new appointments will be led by operations manager Christian Torgersen, and will start work during August and September.
