Norwegian land-based salmon farmer Fredrikstad Seafoods is receiving better-than-expected feedback since it first began harvesting in April, CEO of the holding company Nordic Aquafarms' Bernt-Olav Rottingsnes told IntraFish.
With most of the foodservice sector shutdown over COVID-19, the company is focusing its sales on fishmongers and specialty supermarkets, with only some volume going into local Norwegian restaurants in Oslo.
"We expect when foodservice opens up in Europe, more and more will go to foodservice, but we will wait and see how that goes," Rottingsnes said.
