SCOTTISH netmaker J & W Stuart Ltd has developed a new net-strengthening treatment - Netseal - which in recent trials has been shown to increase the strength of new netting by up to 20%.
The Musselburgh-based firm developed Netseal originally as an anti-UV treatment which could be used in treating a cage net, thus prolonging its working life by reducing the rate of degradation caused by sunlight and the action of the waves.
In use, J & W Stuart found that the treatment gave some additional benefits.
