The Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and salmon farming company Marine Harvest are collaborating on a potential sea lice treatment for farmed salmon in hopes of phasing out the use of chemical treatments.

The aquarium announced earlier this month it launched the second stage of its sea lice experiment and results should be ready by the end of May.

Scientist Shannon Balfry returned from Norway after studying how salmon farms use lumpfish as a "cleaner" fish to remove sea lice off salmon.
