Singapore-based Shiok Meats, a producer of lab-grown meat, has completed a $4.6 million (€4.1 million) seed round, according to a report in Forbes. The company is producing lab-grown shrimp.
The funding round includes Big Idea Ventures, a VC fund focused on meat alternatives and backed by food giant Tyson.
Forbes reports that Shiok will use its new funding for R&D and to grow its bio-engineering team. The company hopes to have products in markets within three years.
