Dutch based multi-species animal breeding company Hendrix Genetics, is relocating its aquaculture research and development (R&D) department from Scotland to Boxmeer in the Netherlands.

Additionally the company has appointed Johan van Arendonk as its new head of aquaculture R&D.

The R&D department, formerly known as LNS Ltd, has been based in Scotland since inception in 1997 and benefited greatly from close association with the Universities of Stirling, Edinburgh (Roslin Institute) and Glasgow.

However, as the Aquaculture Business Unit in Hendrix Genetics continues to expand both globally and in multi-species-- salmonids and warm water species -- there is a greater need to need to develop R&D capabilities, said the company.
