SCHERING-Plough Animal Health of Canada is offering two new products: Tribrissen 40% and Aquaflor.
Tribrissen 40% powder is claimed to have well-documented efficacy and fight a range of diseases including vibriosis, while Aquaflor is a 50% medicated premix for salmon antibiotic and fights bacterial resistance.
Tribrissen is a synthetic antibacterial combining trimethoprim and sulfadiazine to produce a sequential "double blockage" of bacterial activity. Schering-Plough believes this gives a level of activity many times greater than either drug alone.
Tribrissen 40% powder has over 15 years use worldwide and has a high therapeutic index so is safe even if accidentally overdosed.
