IN recent years recirculation principles have been integrated in trout farming in many parts of the world where environmental laws restricted stream/river flow-through designs.

Danish farmers were the first to adopt recirculation and water purification because their tightened legislation forced them to discharge less and cleaner water. This challenge, however, as led to new opportunities being created.

By filtering the water it can be re-used which means that the productivity can be increased. At the same time the discharge water is of a better quality and meets legislation.
