Chilean company Marine Farm obtained Global Aquaculture Alliance's (GAA) Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) 4-star certification at its Tornagaleones Atlantic salmon farming site.
"This shows the commitment of our company with the development of sustainable aquaqualture based on best practices in every step of the production cycle," said Jose Manuel Ureta, general manager of the plant.
With the certification, the US commercial joint venture Patagonia Seafarms, held by Patagonia Seafarms and Salmones Yadran, also became fully 4-star BAP certified, as it adds this recognition to the Yadran Quellon certification obtained in 2015.
