Chile’s Ministry for the Environment (SMA) imposed a number of measures on Marine Harvest Chile after the massive Atlantic salmon escape occurred at the company's Punta Redonda site, in Los Lagos, July 5.

Following inspections at the site, the SMA demanded that the company removes all structures, cages and platforms and cleans the seabed also recovering all the parts of the structure that may have sank.

In addition, the SMA asked the company to carry out regular flyovers to discard mortalities in the area, and to conduct a plan for the disposal of the mortalities it finds.
