DR BARRY Munday has died, in his home in Tasmania, after a long and extremely brave fight against prostate cancer.
The barrimundi is a very important Australian fish and it was almost axiomatic that the young Barry, seeking an outlet for his research interests in veterinary pathology, should choose to specialise in fish pathology.
Over a relatively short time this determined and very competent scientist built up an outstanding reputation in his work on paramoeba infections and other gill diseases in Australian fishes.
