Mexico’s National Commission of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Conapesca) together with aquaculture company Baja Aqua Farms released 190 metric tons of bluefin tuna in the Pacific ocean to protect the species, reports El Vigia.
The freeing took place on June 25 and was conducted in line with the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission conservation measures to help bluefin tuna stocks recovery, the responsible bodies said in a statement.
