SHETLAND Islands skipper John William Stewart's 61 metre Antarctic II (LK 145) is the fourth mid-water trawler designed by Skipsteknisk of Norway to be delivered in nine months by Flekkefjord Slipp for Whalsay island partnerships, reports David Linkie.
The previous deliveries were Research, Charisma and Adenia - and Antarctic II will be followed by a fifth vessel from the same designer.
She is the 76 metre Altaire being fitted out by Solstrand at Tomrefjord, Norway, following a four-week tow from Istanbul, Turkey, where her hull was built.
