BETA Meal is a spray-dried powder derived from naturally occurring saltwater algae (Dunallailla salina) that has been farm-raised and then dried at low temperature to maintain the maximum nutritional benefit, according to Mariculture Technologies International of Florida, USA.
One gram of Beta Meal represents the equivalent of at least 100 gallons (380 litres) of live algae culture (10 billion algae cells) and contains 2% beta-carotene.
It is the natural diet for many marine organisms that filter water for their dietary needs, including rotifers, artemia, corals and clams.
