SKIPPER Geoffrey Chambers and the three-man crew of the 17m Kilkeel scalloper Lynn Marie N 264 were lucky to escape serious injury last Saturday morning when their vessel was run down and severely damaged by the 155m container ship Philipp, reports David Linkie.
The ship only stopped to offer assistance one hour later when 20 miles north of the casualty.
Lynn Marie left Port St Mary with another five Kilkeel and Isle of Man boats and was steaming on a southerly course five miles south east of the Calf-of-Man ready to shoot at 06.00hrs
