The MSC’s board of trustees decided late last Thursday at a meeting in London that the group will remain focused on its core mission of promoting sustainability in the world’s wild fisheries, without broadening its scope too far.

The MSC has not ruled out revisiting the idea of expanding its logo to farmed fish products in the future, according to Marketing and Communications Director Simon Edwards.

“There’s so much going on at the moment in terms of dealing with wild fisheries that we don’t have the internal resources for a massive expansion like this,” Edwards told IntraFish.
