Thai Union-owned MerAlliance is launching a new low-salt smoked salmon product, without the addition of substitute salts, in what it claims is a first for the sector.
The company’s research and development (R&D) at Armoric have successfully developed an exclusive recipe of smoked salmon with reduced salt content of 25 percent.
The product arrives in stores in May.
“The innovation lies in the absence of substitute salts such as additives or Potassium Chloride,” the company said.
