An increase in the pollock total allowable catch (TAC) for Russia with a bump from the western Bering Sea is not likely to impact the US market as Russia is still largely producing less valuable formats of the fish.

One executive overseeing pollock processing plants for Bering sea fishing vessels told IntraFish that once Russia increases its surimi and fillet production levels, a 6.5-percent increase set for 2023 for the Russian pollock fishery could make a dent in the US market.
