The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded America's Catch and Consolidated Catfish Companies a little over $2.1 million (€1.8 million) for 380,000 pounds of frozen catfish fillets to be used for the agency's National School Lunch program and other other Federal Food and Nutrition Assistance Programs in Idaho and Missouri.

Mississippi-based Consolidated Catfish Companies was awarded nearly $1.7 million (€1.4 million) to provide the program with 304,000 pounds of catfish. America's Catch won the bid to supply the rest of the contract, and was awarded $480,320 (€405,137).

Since August 12, the USDA has awarded catfish companies around $26.3 million (€22.2 million) for its child nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs.
