Russian pollock prices fell sharply in the first quarter as the coronavirus pandemic took its toll, according to trade organization the Pollock Catcher Association (PCA).

Frozen pollock prices fell on average by 28 and 30 percent in foreign and domestic markets, respectively, hurt by weak foodservice markets in particular, according to PCA President Alexey Buglak.

“Indeed, Covid-19 has affected the whole global seafood market, and the pollock market is not an exception," Buglak told IntraFish.
