Russia officially completed its 2021 pollock ‘A’ season on April 10, having battled port closures in China that backed up supplies and poor fishing.

Harvesters reported an overall catch of 858,000 metric tons in all fishing zones of the Far East Fishing Basin, including 777,000 metric tons in the Sea of Okhotsk, according to Russia’s Pollock Catchers Association (PCA).

Both indicators showed a decrease of 14 percent and 15 percent respectively from the 2020 season.
