An additional portion of Russia's Sea of Okhotsk pollock fishery has gained Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification, making 126,000 metric tons of certified product eligible to carry the blue tick.

The new region -- the East Sakhalin Pollock Stock -- was added as part of what the MSC calls a "scope extension," which allows for new areas of a fishery to be added without undergoing full certification from scratch.
