Washington state-based surimi manufacturer Sugiyo USA is no ordinary surimi producer, according to its President and CEO Susan Ruiz.

"We’re the Gucci or the Chanel of surimi," Ruiz explained, noting the company is a boutique producer located in the same city where Alaska pollock behemoth Trident Seafoods also operates a large processing plant.

Sugiyo produces its Alaska snow legs product from what Ruiz describes as "high-grade" Alaska pollock that is then sold predominately to US retailers such as Albertson's and Kroger.
