Norway's cod farming industry has come under fire following reports of a possible escape, but questions are swirling over where the fish originated from, and whether or not they could impact wild populations.
Earlier this month, Norway's Directorate of Fisheries received tips from fishermen who were catching large volumes of what they thought were possible escaped farmed cod outside Meloy, Norway.
While Norwegian group Norcod is the only farmer with facilities in the area, the company is uncertain if the cod originated from their farm.
